Sucafina's IMPACT Program, is at the forefront of our efforts to create a fairer, more resilient, and more transparent coffee industry. In this Q&A, Jordan Hooper, Head of Green Coffee Trading, shares his vision for IMPACT and how the program is driving meaningful change across the supply chain.

Sucafina’s purpose is to create opportunities to improve lives. That’s why we are delighted to share a project implemented by our instant coffee team to expand a school in Rwanda’s Eastern Province. By addressing issues like classroom overcrowding, the initiative is enhancing the quality of education for students at the school.

At Sucafina, our long-term goal is to help farmers develop coffee growing models that have a positive impact on farmer livelihood, the environment and communities. Agroforestry – intercropping trees into fields of cash and food crops – is a key component of creating regenerative agriculture coffee growing systems.

Food crops can improve family nutrition, increase income and even contribute to greater gender equality. That’s why we donated food crop seeds to farmers in our supply chain in Papua New Guinea in honor of our clients as our 2023 holiday gift.

Today, we are celebrating Earth Day, an annual event on April 22 to raise awareness of the importance of protecting Earth’s natural resources for future generations. Protecting Our Planet is a key pillar of Sucafina’s Sustainability Strategy and a major focus for us, not just on Earth Day, but every day.
