June 7, 2024 – Sucafina is delighted to announce that it has joined the Swiss Sustainable Coffee Platform (SSCP), a multi-stakeholder initiative launched this week with the aim of promoting sustainability in the global coffee value chain.
The SSCP is the result of a partnership between the Swiss coffee industry (represented by the Swiss Coffee Trade Association, Procafé, and the Swiss Roasters' Guild, organized under the Community of Interest for Coffee Switzerland), the Swiss government (represented by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs), civil society organizations, and academia.
The official launch of the SSCP took place at an event at the Kursaal in Bern on June 6. Among the speakers were Swiss Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin and various representatives from the coffee sector, including Nicolas A. Tamari, CEO of Sucafina, who delivered a keynote speech.
“The SSCP provides a powerful platform to amplify our efforts to address key sustainability challenges and make a tangible impact on the ground,” said Nicolas A. Tamari. “We thank all of the partners for their support and look forward to collaborating with other SSCP members. Together, we can create a more sustainable and equitable coffee sector that benefits everyone involved.”
