There has been a surge in fraud attempts using addresses similar to Sucafina’s standard format. Our standard and that of our network is [initials]@[company], for example [email protected]. Please carefully check to ensure both the displayed name and the email address are from our company.
The perpetrators use false addresses to send e-mails in which they suggest that we have new bank accounts and that funds should be redirected to such account. Sucafina and its network companies never use e-mail to notify our counterparties that we have new bank accounts.
Sucafina SA is not liable for direct or indirect losses arising from any such fraud attempts, which do not originate from our servers. If we are made aware of such attempts, we will request the address or domain be shut down. At the same time, we urge our relations to be cautious from their side, including adjusting their spam-filters to stop such fraudulent e-mail traffic.
Please be particularly vigilant during school and public holidays as these are periods of both increased attempts and decreased ability to verify the genuineness of the communication.
If in doubt, please check by calling your usual contact at Sucafina (a voice you recognize), or simply dial +41 22 839 77 77 and ask for guidance.
